Anime request megathread — post what you want added

Since there's no dedicated request thread I'm making one. Drop what anime you want added to Astra and hopefully the team sees it. Be specific with the title, include the year if there are multiple seasons or remakes.

I'll start:
- Mushoku Tensei (both seasons + the recap films)
- Spice and Wolf (original 2008 and the 2024 remake)
- Vinland Saga
Vinland Saga is a must. One of the best written protagonists in recent shounen history and the animation quality in S2 especially is insane for a TV anime.

My requests:
- Berserk 1997 (not the 2016 one, never the 2016 one)
- Planetes
- Legend of the Galactic Heroes (the original OVA series)
Legend of the Galactic Heroes is 110 episodes plus side stories so that's a big ask but if it ever shows up I will watch every single one on this site specifically.

Requests:
- Natsume's Book of Friends (all 6 seasons)
- Barakamon
- Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
Natsume's Book of Friends request seconded with full force. That show is the most calming thing ever made and I've been looking for a good place to rewatch it.

Also want to put in a request for:
- Ping Pong The Animation
- Tatami Galaxy
- Kaiba

Basically anything Masaaki Yuasa directed would be great
Ping Pong and Tatami Galaxy are two of the most unique visual styles in anime and deserve to be watched by more people. Seconding those hard.

My requests:
- Nichijou (the 2011 one, Kyoto Animation)
- Azumanga Daioh
- Aria the Animation (all three seasons)

I am a slice of life person and I will not apologize

Aria the Animation (all three seasons)

Aria is so peaceful it should be prescribed by doctors. The entire show is just gondoliers in a flooded Mars city being kind to each other and appreciating small things. Nothing bad happens. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a break from dark anime.
Adding to the request list:
- Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (I know, I know, but it needs to be here for completeness)
- Hunter x Hunter 2011
- Monster (Naoki Urasawa)

Monster especially because it's incredibly hard to find streaming anywhere and it's a genuine masterpiece. Urasawa deserves more reach.
Monster being hard to find legally is genuinely one of the biggest streaming failures of the industry. That show should be on every platform. It's one of the greatest psychological thrillers ever made in any medium.

Also requesting:
- 20th Century Boys (technically manga but if the anime ever gets a proper adaptation)
- Paranoia Agent
Paranoia Agent is Satoshi Kon and should be watched immediately by anyone who hasn't. Also Paprika and Perfect Blue but those are films.

Actually — will Astra ever have anime films? Even if it's just the classic ones like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Nausicaa?
Good question about films. The site seems focused on series right now but even a small films section would be amazing. There are so many classic films that are hard to find in good quality.

Requesting films specifically:
- Akira (1988)
- Ghost in the Shell (1995)
- Princess Mononoke
- Nausicaa
- The Garden of Words
The Garden of Words is 45 minutes and it's one of the most beautiful things ever animated. If Astra added films that would absolutely be my first watch.

Adding one more series request I forgot: Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous). Full CG anime that somehow made me feel more for characters made of rocks than I feel for most human protagonists.
Houseki no Kuni mentioned. That show broke me and I still don't know why I care so much about crystalline genderless rock people. The manga continuation is also devastating.

Keeping a running list of everything requested in this thread:

SERIES:
- Mushoku Tensei
- Spice and Wolf
- Vinland Saga
- Berserk 1997
- Planetes
- LotGH
- Natsume's Book of Friends
- Barakamon
- Rakugo Shinjuu
- Ping Pong
- Tatami Galaxy
- Nichijou
- Aria
- FMAB
- HxH 2011
- Monster
- Paranoia Agent
- Houseki no Kuni

FILMS (if possible):
- Akira
- GitS 1995
- Princess Mononoke
- Nausicaa
- Garden of Words

Hopefully the team sees this. Thanks everyone
Good list. Want to add one more that I forgot:
- Baccano!

Baccano is one of the most unique narrative structures in anime, nonlinear storytelling done right, great dub too if anyone's a dub watcher. Underrated criminally.
Baccano!! Yes. And while we're at it, Durarara!! by the same author. They share a universe and both are great.

Thanks for making this thread, hopefully Astra keeps growing. The site is already way better than most alternatives I've used, just need more content and it'll be perfect.
